Buy organic?

I was watching Dirty Jobs and saw these guys on there with Mike Rowe. I personally think that we should maybe consider organics when it comes to purchasing, but seriously this doesn't help the cause:

Crappy Day At Work!

So yesterday was one of the worst days at work ever. It was good up until 5pm, then all hell broke loose. Of course, I had to have the 3 most confused, indirectable patients. Thank god for Haldol and Ativan, haha. Yesterday was supposed to be day 2 of 4 for me, but luckily I got cancelled today. So now I'm just chilling at home, catching up on shows, and putting stuff on ebay, haha.

Serious?

So I read this on Yahoo Featured news:

Derrick Rose cuts apple, arm

This can't be true. Cutting an apple in bed? C'mon. There has to be some cover-up story.

Nostradamus of the market?

Snap.....even Ben Stein got scored on!!!!!!

Trash the Dress!!!

Yay, they are up on Dionne's Blog. I've been excited to see them. We did them October 5, the day before we left for our Europe trip. We did them in downtown Detroit. If you haven't heard the story yet, it's very interesting. So we originally tried to do this last year after our wedding, but due to the weather, we were unable to. So we finally got to do it this year.

We were supposed to meet Dionne at the Greektown parking garage. She was running a little late, so once we did get there, we couldn't find her. Come to find out, she was at the other parking garage. haha. So we decided to meet at the Greektown people mover. Haha, as we were waiting, still couldn't find her. She was at the Bricktown people mover stop, which is one away from Greektown. Of course, she got on, and we figured that the next stop is Greektown (as it has been for years). One thing we didn't know, is that they decided to reverse the people mover direction, making Greektown the last stop. Great, huh. So at this point, I'm standing in my wedding dress (as people are congratulating us, and getting whistles), waiting. Good times. When we did finally meet up with her on the people mover, The red wings game of course let out, so there was a ton of people on the mover. Luckily, it looks like she got some shots on it. Overall, it was a good time. Not too cold or rainy. We also ended in Belle Isle (in the fountain), which was cold and dark, so hopefully we got some good ones there. It is a definite recommend to do for brides.

On a side note, the dress didn't get that trashed. :) More pics at

NL Cy young

Doesn't the NL Cy young winner Tim Lincecum look eerily like the "Rookie of the year" kid, but older?

No visa for you!!!!!

Watch out Filipinos the US government is out to get you!!! This is my parents doctor:

Flint doctor deported; Friends and family fight to have Dr. Jose Jota return to Grand Blanc Township

I feel bad for them all, just for a stupid mistake they get deported for 10 years minimum. He's been pretty law abiding since but they can't take that into consideration, can't they? It sucks for my parents because he has been their doc for a while now. He knows their medical history, now they have to break in a new doctor. Ah Joyce.....R your parents legit?

So last night, Mike and I went to see the movie, Rolemodels with Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott. It is just as funny as you see in the commercials. The kid was pretty raunchy too, which made it even funnier. Definitely recommend to see.

Hockey fight in dollars..

Seriously Forbes, do you not have enough to write about or just that everything needs to be in dollar and sense? Never thought hockey fighting was quantifiable, But hey, check it:

Best Hockey Fighters For The Buck

I like the wins-loss records, its like they're prize fighters!! (in dispickable<---as Mike Tyson)

Bet you the Hanson Brothers are the most bang for your buck!! I'm sure the guest appearances at minor league hockey games don't always pay the bills.

First Anniversary Weekend!

So our first anniversary has come and passed. I can't believe we made it to one year, haha. We made a weekend out of it. We had a free night stay at the Marriott, since that was where our wedding was. We stayed in their king suite, which is really nice. On Saturday night, we had a fancy dinner at Shula's Steakhouse (in the hotel), which is probably the most expensive meal we've ever and will ever have. Despite the price, everything was delicious. I, obviously got the mahi mahi, considering I don't eat red meat. But Michael got the steak and said it was yummy.

Sunday, we went apple picking, which we've been doing every year since we met. So now we have a ton of apples to eat, gotta find some good recipes for apples.

Later that night, we went to my ultimate favorite restaurant, the melting pot. Definitely recommend if you haven't been. Since it was our anniversary, we got free bubbly :)

Overall it was a really nice, relaxing weekend. A nice end to a vacation. Now back to the grindstone again.

Happy Birthday Kasia!!!

So last night was Kasia's bday costume bash. From what I remember, it was a great time. You can also tell from Konrad's pics, haha. Anyways, loved everyone's costumes. My husband always still surprises me, with his lovely geisha outfit, with eyelashes and all. THe night started out early for me and Pam, she came over early to help decorate and get some food and stuff. In the meantime, we were trying to decide on a "Kasia" drink, but a couple of drinks later, we were unable to find the perfect one. As more people came by, more drinking went on. A little bit of jello shots, moonshine, and many random sarah shots. Let's just say, I won't be drinking for quite some time. Overall, hopefully everyone had a good time. Happy Birthday to wifey kasia!!

On a side note, I married a wonderful man, one who takes care of me (and of advantage of me) in my drunken stupor. I love Miska!! (No, I'm not drunk anymore, or even hungover)

Sue and Eric are you ready?

This was one of the funniest beginnings to the Office yet, baby episode!! Its the whole episode just wanted you to see the first few minute.

DVR was 88% full!!!!

That is one problem with going on vacation during the fall!! A cool thing, watching them back to back!!! Were on a major TV show overload currently!!

We are home!

So we made it home safely. Arrived yesterday night after a long day of traveling. First off, Europe was tons of fun. Lots to do, eat and drink. We of course, have many pictures, which are currently being uploaded onto flickr (all 626 of them).

To somewhat recap our trip:

First country was Mike's home country of Hungary. Flew into Budapest, where we met up with Mike's family, whom were extremely nice, wanted to feed us all the time, just like the filipinos. Problem, was the lack of english. It was funny how they would speak to me in Hungarian, and expected me to answer. His aunt would have a full on conversation with me, and I would just nod my head and smile. Luckily Mike was able to speak/understand some of it. We actually stayed outside of Budapest with the fam for a couple of days. Got to see Mike's mom's home town and such. Pretty neat, quaint little village. Definitely nothing like Michigan. The last 2 nights in Hungary we spent in the city, seeing sights and all. We did a cruise on the Danube at night which was beautiful.

Next off to Vienna, which was much bigger than expected. One thing I do love/miss about Europe is that you can drink on the streets, like beer. People were in front of Parliament just knocking down Gosser beer. How great is that!!! We really need to enact that rule here in the states. Also, Mike enjoyed their Eurodog which consists of this huge sausage in a baguette. Of course, we ate the wiener schnitzel.

Lastly was Prague, which personally was my favorite. Very historic and big. We did lots of walking. We went to Prague castle, which is one of the oldest castles in Europe. Also walked the famous Charles Bridge, which was under construction. Can't seem to get away from that. There were also a couple places that were closed due to construction. There was this place called Petrin Hill, which is a mini-Eiffel Tower on top of a hill. And of course, the tram thing that took you up to the hill was closed. So we hiked all the way up, as well as taking the 299 steps in the tower. We were quite pooped. But we topped off the days with Czech food and beer. Their beer was pretty good. Didn't try the absinthe though which was sold everywhere. We were almost tempted to take some home, but knowing my luck, our luggage would be checked and it would have been found.

Anyways, overall, we had a great time, luckily we have a couple days to relax and get back used to the time difference.

European Update

Were alive!!!! Things are well, weather is great and Budapest and Vienna are as beautiful as they claim. If my zs and y's are messed up its because of this damn kezboard!!! Zou should of seen the Hungarian one!! Anzwazs, were doing a walking tour of Vienna and its neat and laughing all the time when we see Wiener!!! Lots of that, think it means vienna. All is well off to Praha tomorrow, see zou all soon.

Love Mike and Jozce

This is Baaaaaaaaddddddd.......

Man who had sex with sheep won't appear on sex offender registry, court rules

Ok I heard about this case in the beginning but it still just shakes your head!!!

Mersereau said people who sexually abuse animals often do the same to humans.

"It seems about a dozen times a year we hear of cases involving people who sexually abuse a child, who have in the past done the same to a dog," he said. "The two go hand in hand, and any time the law does not help contribute to the awareness of a predator in their midst, the community suffers."
This statment totally ties in the stupidity of it all. (mike swings head back and forth in dismay)
"Hide your sheep from this man"

Wine & Game Night, Still On

Despite people not responding to our evite, boo on you all (you know who you are). We are still having wine & game night. Any suggestions for food? So far I have egg rolls (courtesy of my mom), spinach dip, cheese fondue, and shrimp cocktail (just for mikey). Oh and I'm planning on making a coffee cake.

Hope to see you all there.

Fringe!?

So it's that time of year. Where television producers decide they want to awe us with their new shows. Well I decided to check out this new one on Fox, called Fringe with Joshua Jackson (one of the main reasons for checking it out),haha. Anyways, I'm on the fence about it. I'm not usually a fan of the paranormal stuff, but this one intrigued me for some reason. I don't want to give too much away in case you have the itching to see it. But I'd maybe say give it a chance. But then again, that may change with the 2nd episode. We'll have to see.

Another First for Detroit!!!

So I do believe Detroit or any big city for that matter will have the first sitting Mayor to be arrested/arraigned and jailed. This got me thinking of "What are some fun facts of Detroit"? So enjoy and add this next to The most Registered Bowlers and Fatties eating Potato Chips!!!
This is from VisitDetroit.com

Fun Facts About Detroit

AND!!!!

Detroit was the first city nation to: From City of Detroit Website

* Assign individual telephone numbers (1879)
* Hold a state fair (the Michigan State Fair was the first held in 1849)
* Pave a mile of concrete road (on Woodward Avenue between Six and Seven Mile roads in 1909)
* Install a traffic light, manually operated by a staff of policemen (1915)
* Share an automobile traffic tunnel between two nations (United States and Canada, 1930)
* Develop an urban freeway (the Davison in 1942)
* Taste an ice cream soda (when a clerk at Sanders confectionery ran out of sweet cream and in desperation used ice cream in 1875. The rest is history!)
* Hear the clickety-clack of a typewriter (invested in 1829 by Detroiter Austin Burt)
* Enjoy morning coffee brewed in an automatic coffeemaker (the Coffee Clock invented by George Schuler)
* Drink milk from a paperboard carton (by Pur-Pak in 1930)

Additional Fascinating Facts about Detroit

Detroit is the oldest city in the Midwest, and the only one from which one can look south to Canada.

The Ambassador Bridge, linking Detroit with Windsor (Ontario, Canada) is one of the longest international suspension bridges in the world.

James Vernor, who owned a Detroit drugstore and was Michigan's first registered pharmacist, developed the world's first carbonated drink in 1866. The Boston Cooler (vanilla ice cream and the ginger-flavored soda) is a classic Detroit taste sensation. The drink apparently was named for the city's Boston Boulevard, not the city in Massachusetts.

Detroit has Henry Ford, the man who put America on wheels, to thank for the advent of snack food. He allowed workers on his assembly line to take short breaks, which led to the trend of workers purchasing small bags of food that could be quickly consumed.

Cold Duck, the bubbly blend of wine and champagne, was introduced to Detroit at the Pontchartrain Wine Cellars, a former downtown Detroit restaurant.

The Eastern Market, a major commercial food distribution center famous for the quality, freshness and variety of its produce, meat, fish and even flowers, has been in existence since 1892.

In 1915, the first Kiwanis Club began in Detroit.

Detroit's downtown turn-of-the-century trolley cars, complete with old-fashioned, uniformed conductors, operated along Washington Boulevard and Jefferson Avenue. The vintage trolley cars made their Detroit debut in 1976. The electric-powered cars were built in England, Germany, Portugal and the United States between 1895 and the 1920s.

They are on!

So I blogged earlier about getting the braces. Today it is official. I am a big nerd, just like mike, lol. So it was quite an experience. First off, they told me it should only be an hour because of new technology, blah blah blah. One hour turned into two. Why you ask? Who knows really. First off, the lady putting them on says "oops" in the middle of the whole thing. And since her hands are in my mouth, I couldn't quite ask what the hell happpened. Come to find out, they were having a hard time putting on the brackets for some reason. They kept 'slipping'.

Secondly, my mouth has to stay dry for them to put them on, and their little suction thing SUCKED. no pun intended. It hardly was doing its job, so I was salivating all over the place (I know, not a pretty picture), making it harder for the braces to stay on. So instead of trying to fix the suction, she kept going. ARGH. Hopefully the rest of the visits for the next year will be better.

Surprisingly, it didn't hurt as much I though for the process. Currently, still ok. A little difficult to eat, but able to tolerate solid foods, yay! I can't live on mashed potatos and soup. First thing I ate when I was done was McDonalds. I figured I should treat myself.

I feel for those who's had braces in the past. kudos to you.

Braces!

So I've been putting this off for awhile, but on Thursday, I'm getting braces put on. Ugh. I've been dreading it, but it needs to be done. It's not even the invisalign ones, its the full on metal ones, both upper and lower teeth. Damn my gums for being so sensitive. That's how it all started. I used to have perfect teeth as a child and the dentist still says I have nice teeth, just a little bit of an overbite with a gap in the lower part. So they want to close it up and such. Fun, huh? Will you all still love me?? haha.

Oh holy hell!!!

I FOUND THE VIDEO OF THAT HUNGARIAN WEIGHTLIFTER!!!!!!
If you didn't know this, fair warning its graphic!!!
Ok, it makes sense but its kinda of funny theres actual people with block out boards. Oh and not just one replay but several to see the incident....at different angles. I wondered that to....what would it look like from the back angle...oh yeah..It still fucking hurts!!!!!

Hungarian....in agony!!

In lieu of us going to Vienna this October and with all the hungarians that mike keeps pointing out in the olympics, that got me to thinking about the Sound of Music. Which happens to be one of my favorite movies EVER!!!! Can't get enough of it. Maybe I'll watch it after I post this. haha. I happen to look up the movie on wikipedia. I found an interesting thing:

Also I've included a couple of my favorite songs:

Fish tickling....

I've always had this fear as a kid that fish will nibble my feet when swimming. See its true!!!!!!!!!

Nibbling fish perform pedicures

But...as always why? who? where? when? how? did this person think of this? Garra rufa <-----a little info on the fish. This even for me....a little weird.

Blood Playstations?

So with the world becoming a load more self aware to matters all over the globe, why not now gaming systems? Just add this to the list of things I have to wonder if the parts or food were properly acquired. The next time I play "GTF" and "Niko" is having sex with a hooker, there's going to be an image of some Congolese kid in a cave harvesting the ore needed for my enjoyment.

Playstation 2 component incites African war

PS I don't own a PS2, but hopefully the Wii and DS are blood free.

Outside and dreaming....

So I'm currently outside and blogging by the garage, love wifi!! Decieded to give the garage sale a go ahead today, such a beautiul day. Some highlights from the locals:

-Got into a nice conversation with a clock repairman (yes a clock repairman! his store is next to the blacksmith, cooper and farrier!!!) He was excited to see our vote for the zoo yard signs. He was going to vote even though he doesn't own a house. Then the good ol' "Why is Kwame's name on the water tower" talk came up. Ok people, a couple of things: some of the zoo's property is still owned by the city of Detroit, hence we can't do anything with the name unless the tool is voted out of office. He decieded to tell me all about why he hates Detroit and hopes for "them" not "we" turns it around. Its shameful but its the attitude of most metro Detroiters. Anyways, he bought some stuff, Thanks dude!!!

-A funny young kid stopped by and we had a nice (atleast 20 minute) conversation on gameboys, his sister breaking her cell phone (she is grounded by the way and i'm not suppose to tell you!), a broken door knob, and a bike seat that hurts his "butt". So, he's going home to ask his mom if he can buy the gameboy advance, the cell phone for his sister and the door knob ( so he can lock himself in his room to get away from his sister)

-I put out the "Yes on zoo" yard signs and the tiger ones are going good, too good...I'm left with a load of bears and monkey/hippos ( somebody just pointed out that the Monkey/hippos ones are looking more hippoish). Ok, you'd think knowing my animals, i'd know the difference, I should refresh myself on cartoonish charater looking animals book that I have (kidding)

I have tiger tickets for sale, no ones buying (bitches!!)

The weather is good and so is life!

The Dark Knight

So we just got home from seeing The Dark Knight. Let me just say, (no spoilers here), it was great! Definitely dvd worthy. It doesn't help that I LOVE Christian Bale. Dreamy, haha. It is definitely different that the other batman movies. But I think good different.

I was just checking out imdb about the movie and happen to find some interesting things about the movie. Again, no spoilers included:

Matt Damon was Christopher Nolan's first choice for the role of Harvey Dent but turned it down. Before Aaron Eckhart was cast in the part, other actors considered included Hugh Jackman, Ryan Phillippe, Liev Schreiber and Josh Lucas.

As a joke, one bat suit was made with nipples, as in Batman & Robin (1997). It was presented to Christian Bale as the real bat suit, but he knew instantly it was a joke, having seen a few design pictures during preproduction. He did pose for some publicity photos in the "nipple" suit. ( I would definitely want to find pictures of this so-callled "nipple" suit, haha)

This is the first Batman film to not have "Batman" in the title.

Robin Williams, Lachy Hulme, Paul Bettany, and Adrien Brody all expressed interest for the role of the Joker before Heath Ledger was cast. (which I think was a good choice)

Turning down a salary estimated at between $1 million and $2 million
an increase over the roughly $1 million she was believed to have earned for Batman Begins (2005) - Katie Holmes chose not to reprise her role as Rachel Dawes. This was due to what was described as 'scheduling conflicts'. (more like Tom Cruise did not allow it)

While filming on the streets of Chicago in April 2007, the filming was carried out under the fake movie title "Rory's First Kiss". Fliers regarding the filming carried this fake title, complete with a fake "RFK" logo for the movie and an address for the film's production offices. (clever)

To prepare for his role as the Joker, Heath Ledger lived alone in a hotel room for a month, formulating the character's psychology, posture and voice (the last one he found most difficult to do). He started a diary, in which he wrote the Joker's thoughts and feelings to guide himself during his performance. He was also given Alan Moore's comic "Batman: The Killing Joke" and "Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth" to read. Ledger also took inspiration from A Clockwork Orange (1971)'s Alex and Sid Vicious. (insane, but it definitely shows in the movie)

Either way, it is a must-see :)

Downsizing

Not sure if you all caught this article in the Freep, Voters asked to downsize Lansing.

I'm liking the idea that all our leaders take a pay cut while our work force is dwindling and no pay raises to boot. Personally its time we all look at whats wrong with the system. Is this the answer? Some of the answer? I don't know, but at least its a start. Campaign finance reform is a big thing in my book. Anyways, if anyone finds out were I can sign up for this ASAP, let me know!!!!

Damn you Comcast!!

So we signed up for Comcast a month ago, switched from Wow. I'm thinking it might have been a mistake. It is cheaper, but their service SUCKS. Our internet has gone out at least 5 times already, and they keep blaming it on "outages" and stuff. Whatever. This latest one, they blamed on the weather. But the other times, it wasn't weather related. Ugh, so frustrating!

OneBeaumont

So I just wasted an hour and a half of my time today. Do you know what I was doing? Sitting in a classroom listening to people say that we should make our doctors happy!! Our Doctors? Really, c'mon. What about our nurses? There wouldn't be a hospital if it weren't for the nurses. The purpose of the class was to see how "we" as beaumont can make doctors satisfied, which in turn will bring in more patients, which in turn will bring in more revenue for beaumont. I am quite offended by this and I'm sure many of the other employees in the room were. It's ridiculous. Who is at the patient's bedside 24hours a day.

Then they go to say that the doctor's time is valuable and that we need to do things to not waste their time. Ugh, I am so frustrating for the whole thing. At least we get paid for it.

Weird foot in the mouth topic...

So Joyce and I were coming home and we saw a "Hog" on a "Hog". So of course I made the comment that was one "Huge" person on a bike. Joyce made the comment "so if I rode that, you'd think I'm fat". I said no........just pleasantly plump!!!! (note: Joyce is laughing the whole time) It brings me to a ?....check out the poll -------->

Punk goes......?

CRUNK!!!!!

I was with Joyce the other day at Target and found this, no not among the CDs, but randomly in the Men's clothing section. So I'm not the only one that had a second thought to show someone. Seriously, is this true? Look there is a myspace "PUNK GOES CRUNK"!!! Not to intellectual pick at this already absurd topic, but according to wikipedia of CRUNK, most of the songs on the album are considered Hip Hop of the east coast, west coast brand. I may give them umbrella (I'm partial to it) but after that....its the hippty hoppity. Seriously people, not here to judge. The "I wish" is a little catchy, liked the original by itself!

The new Five

Hey Eric the new five is looking more prettier these days!!!!

Aw, my Tito baby!

So I was cleaning out all my emails yesterday since I tend to keep everything that isn't spam. And I came across the first ever picture of Tito. It wasn't even our picture, it was the one from the previous owner, the one that convinced us to get him :)

He was so young and so cute. Still is. :)

New Scarlett Johansson Music Video!!!!

Yes I said that correctly!!!!!! Guess its a thing to do in Hollywood, look good, act, party and make Music Videos.

God was it horrible!! "I'm falling down" with a fork in my eye!! The only thing good about this video is the 45 second music break in the middle!!! Ok I don't ask for much out of people, but Scarlett? just sit there and look pretty, am I asking for much? Your boobies are so fine, there is no need for you to do a video for attention. Her voice is like Sinead o'connor, but a little more.....how you say? manlier? Ok, maybe I was a little bitter, because I didn't win that date with you on ebay. But don't judge me for my sexy saxaphone playing on the toliet!! I have some musical stylings, and have to says its was a little rough to watch!! Don't be discourged, just after you fall down, get back up and DON'T MAKE ANOTHER SONG!!!!!

My Interesting Pedicure Experience

So yesterday I decided to treat myself to a pedicure at this local place I usually go to. Anyways, as I was picking out my polish color, I see next to me this "woman" next to me (who by the way resembled a tall friend of ours). Or so I thought it was a woman, haha. Then she spoke, and come to find out, it was actually a man, with a wig, and huge boobs (bigger than mine, of course). She pretty much looked like a manly woman. I almost had a chuckle. One that it resembled someone I knew, and two, I was totally not expecting that. Either way, it was pretty funny. By the end of my pedicure, I somehow had managed talking to another woman about 80 year olds with penile implants. I don't even know how that conversation had gotten started.

St. Patrick's Day 2008!

So St. Patrick's Day was a fun and long day. Here's a somewhat quick re-cap: 10:00 AM (yes, that is AM) - Breakfast and Main Street in HamTown to allow for us to drink more. This is us pre-drinking: 11:00 AM - Arrived at Old Shillelagh in Detroit. While walking up to the entrance, we happen to see an old man passed out with a bloody nose. Looks as though he started pretty early. We got to the tent and started our drink on. Was able to make it upstairs to hear somewhat Irish music. Drinking then led the entire upstairs to chanting "We are table #1, table #1, table #1, where the f*ck is #2". This went on several times, I have video but can't make out the chanting too well. Pretty funny stuff. Here is what our table looked like at around 1:00pm: Next stop, Big Boy. For more food. Alcohol really does make you hungry. We need the carbs to soak it all in. 4:30PM - Pat O'Brien's to see our favorite bartender, Augie. There were no $3 PBRs this time for Mike, only Labatts and Beamish, haha. At this point, Eric finally joined us for some drinking fun. After only about an hour and half, Eric had caught up to where I was, drinking-wise, haha. 7:00PM - Royal Kubo, celebrating filipino-irish style. Hey, they had 2.50 guinesses and angels on horseback (which i don't recommend to anyone)... It looks good, but doesn't taste anything like it looks (as told by the boys). I was smart enough not to eat it. :) Spent the rest of the night at the kubo eating adobo baboy and pansit. Also karaoking it away.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

The day were all a little Irish!!!!! Use this pharse proud on this day of celebrating the great St. Patrick. May the luck of the Irish shine upon you on this most blessed day of drinking. Drive safe!!!!!
